Welcome to Polygonaceae eKewration

This site has been developed to aid the curation and location of specimens by providing an accurate representation of the current organisation of Polygonaceae in the herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. This work is focussed on improving access to the collections, liberating the information that is currently locked up in each specimen and investigating how this information can be further used. The listings contained on this site do not necessarily reflect the latest developments in the taxonomy of this family, however, e-Kewration aims to explore the species names found within the herbarium and improve the accuracy of the curation.

*****WARNING***** This site should not be used as an authoritative account on the species names contained within Polygonaceae, especially at the moment while this project is in its infancy. It should instead be viewed as a working list, which will hopefully become stronger as more work is carried out.
